Strawberry Picking

What better way to begin a blog about British life and culture than talking about strawberry picking?

One of life's little joys is picking fruit on a beautiful summer's day. The strawberries at our local fruit farm are always popular, so we made sure we were there pretty early.

At Gravely in Hertfordshire, you can choose three sizes of containers (or bring your own). We just went for the smallest as we knew our teens would overfill it! They wandered down the tunnels looking for that perfect strawberry...

After picking the fruit, we had a quick look at the piglets and then headed over to the café for brunch.

All in all, a very pleasant way to spend an hour, before heading back home for a BBQ. Got to make the most of the sunshine...
