Welcome!

As a child, there was nothing more exciting to me than pretending I was about to enter a different world. Did I step into my wardrobe and tentatively push the back, hoping that I might feel an icy blast? Absolutely! Did I pretend all the furniture in the house was giant size and I was a tiny Borrower? Naturally. Did I go to the end of the garden, hoping to fall down a rabbit hole, find a magic tree or just catch a glimpse of some fairies amongst the flowers? Well, of course.

Storytelling has no limits. You can invent whatever your mind desires.

The freedom is infinite.

As well as writing, there's also the practical art. Since forever, I have drawn, coloured, painted, snipped, glued, photographed... Anything creative and I was on it!

Today, I have created several different worlds - Gooseberry Grove, Folk of Thimblefern Forest, Sunbloom End, Beautiful Britain and the Learning Lodge. There's a mix of paintings, collage and digital art, complete with microstories. There's picture books and chapter books (well, one at the moment) and altered photographs that also tell a story. The Learning Lodge is coming soon and will be the place to try an online course and learn creativity techniques.

This is my blog, all about the British way of life - the stereotypes and sometimes the not-so-well-known. I find culture fascinating; we all share this planet, we go to work, come home, cook dinner, but we do it so very differently in little ways.
