Cream Tea - the Great Debate

Now, I’m not a huge fan of jam, clotted cream or scones for that matter. However, put them all together and you have something extremely delicious! How that works, I have no idea.
My youngest brother sent me this hamper for my birthday, from The Cornish Company.
He must’ve known I was craving a cream tea, as I’d planned to make one for my birthday.
I am clearly Cornish when it comes to cream teas, as I always put the jam on first…
It just feels like it all goes on easier. You can pile the cream up this way. The Devonian way, is to put the cream on first. They argue it’s like a layer of butter, which you spread on sandwiches first and then put the filling on top. This is true, but is a lot trickier when it comes to cream teas, in my opinion.
This is quite a serious debate in Britain. Have you ever had a cream tea? And what goes first?
Anyway, here they are… They didn’t last long.
And here is some art to celebrate the Great Debate…
