A Christmas Carol and Christmas Lights

We always like to try and do something Christmassy each year. It doesn't have to be a big thing, maybe going to see some lights or the Coca Cola truck, ice-skating or a Christmas market. Some years we have been to see shows, like The Snowman or The Nutcracker. I miss the easy years when we just took the kids to see Father Christmas!

Anyway, this weekend we went to see A Christmas Carol in St Albans' Vintry Gardens. The cathedral was the perfect backdrop to the play.

The audience stood around small stages and moved along through the gardens as the story progressed, with a little audience participation.

There was also a small kiosk to buy drinks and snacks...

I'd definitely recommend for next year.

A few weeks ago, we went to Knebworth's Christmas market. You need to purchase tickets in advance for this and I can see why; it was pretty packed even with tickets. There were a lot of stalls, selling a mix of handmade and mass-produced. I didn't manage to take any photos apart from this one of the ceiling!

I'll end with some of our own Christmas lights and decorations...
